An Editorial Rant

Welcome

to the first issue of The Guild Companion, the new ezine dedicated to supporting You in all aspects of your gaming life. We will bringing you articles and regular columns on every major ICE product line including Rolemaster (both 2nd Edition and Standard System), Middle-Earth Role-Playing, Middle-Earth Collectible Card Game, and Silent Death: The New Millennium.

Some of the highlights of this issue include the first instalments of our featured campaign worlds (The World of Novi [for RM2] and The World of Aernth [for RMSS]), a variant system for fate points in RMSS, unpublished material from Castles & Ruins and Mentalism Companion, a preview of the Faithful cultures from Races & Cultures: Middle-Earth, a ready to run adventure, and strategic advice for MECCG players from a master! We have also rescued several articles from the unpublished 3rd issue of the now defunct paper-based Portals Magazine.

We Want You!

Do you want to be Published? Do you want to be a Writer? Do you want to be an Artist?

If you answered YES! to any of the above questions, then you should seriously consider submitting your articles or artwork to The Guild Companion.

For our RM2, RMSS and Middle-Earth sections, we are interested in Ready to Run scenarios, new rules and rules variants, monsters, treasures, training packages, professions, spell lists, new races and cultures, three-dimensional NPC write-ups, and source material of every kind.

For our MECCG section, we are interested in articles focusing on strategies appropriate to the various themes of MECCG, tournament play and new sites and scenarios for distinctive gaming sessions.

For our Silent Death section, we are interested in articles discussing tactics and strategies, new ship designs, new Houses and Rogue elements, and new rules options.

We are also interested in imaginative fiction, whether in the form of short stories or cliff-hanging serials.

For all these sections, we are interested in artwork which will support and bring the articles to life.

So if you have an idea, click here to check out our contributor guidelines.

Farewell (for now ...)

Time for me to stop ranting and for you to begin reading the rest of the issue. Our next issue will be published on February 15th 1999, but until then,

Keep gaming and have fun!
