Ancient History

The area's aboriginal population (actually a sub-race of Unknowns!) lived here when the land was bounteous. The river was clean, the animals grew well and strong. Crops grew easily. In short, the area was a sort of an Eden - although not necessarily idyllic. The reason? They knew that the region's inherent health sprang from the river.. For in the river lived three (3) magical fish. One of Platinum, one of Gold and one of Silver. These Fish gave life and health to the river, surrounding land, the flora and fauna, and the people that dwelt there.

The aborigines realized that the Fish were special and they kept them well. They considered them a gift from god. They had an order of monks - The Fish Friars - who took it upon themselves to tend the Fish. As long as the Fish were happy, the area was healthy.
