1. Minor Crystal: Allows the caster to take an appropriate crystal (e.g. diamond, amethyst, etc.) and form a crystal focus. The caster must cast this spell once a day for 1 week on the crystal, concentrating for 1 hour each day. At the end of this week, the caster has a minor crystal. A minor crystal is a +1 Mentalism adder If the crystal is destroyed, then the caster immediately takes 50% of his hits and functions at -30 for 2 weeks.

2. Mental Focus: Gives the caster a +20 to the caster's next Self Control maneuver (initiated within the next minute).

3. Extended Focus II: Caster's next spell (within 1 minute) has double the normal duration.

4. Lesser Crystal: As Minor Crystal, except turns a Minor Crystal into a +1 spell adder and gives a +5 bonus to one Power Awareness or Power Manipulation skill.

5. Crystal Sense: The caster may see and/or hear from his crystal focus. The caster may rotate his vision. The crystal must initially be within range of the spell but may move out of the range without dispelling the spell. The caster may use any visual or auditory perception skills or spells he has active at the time (i.e., if the caster is currently under the effects of Nightvision, he will have Nightvision at the crystal's location).

6. Far Focus II: Caster's next spell (within 1 minute) has double its range.

7. Recall Crystal: This immediately returns the caster's crystal to his outstretched hand if the crystal is within range of the spell.

8. Crystal Spell: The caster can store any one spell in his crystal. The spell to be stored must be cast immediately after this spell (within 1 minute). The power point cost of this spell is equal to the level of the spell to be stored. When the caster wishes to cast the stored spell, he must also expend the power points. A stored spell counts as if there were two rounds of preparation for the spell.

9. Dual Focus: Caster's next spell will affect two targets (does not work for Elemental attack spells).

10. Greater Crystal: As Minor Crystal, except turns a Lesser Crystal into a +2 spell adder and gives a +10 bonus to one Power Awareness or Power Manipulation skill.

11. Extended Focus III: As Extended Focus II, except the duration is tripled.

12. Scrying: The caster may view a person, item, or location seeing what is happening at the very moment at the "scried" site. The caster must be able to name the person or location uniquely (or describe the location, person, or item uniquely). The caster must concentrate upon his crystal focus. The scried target will appear in a vision. The range for the spell is 1000' feet per level of the caster. The caster may only see what is happening at the scried site (no other senses are given) and may only use his normal visual faculties (no enhancements such as Nightvision or Woodsight are permitted). Persons at a scried site may make a Power Perception maneuver (with a Hard difficulty) to notice that they are being scried (though only educated persons will know the cause of this feeling).

13. Far Focus III: As Far Focus II, except the range is tripled.

14. Alternate Focus: Caster's next spell (within 1 minute) that effects only the caster, now has a range of touch and can affect 1 target.

15. Extended Focus IV: As Extended Focus II, except the duration is quadrupled.

16. Silver Crystal: As Minor Crystal, except turns a Greater Crystal into a +3 spell adder and gives a +15 bonus to one Power Awareness or Power Manipulation skill.

17. Far Focus IV: As Far Focus II, except the range is quadrupled.

18. Scrying II: As Scrying I, except the range is 1 mile per level.

19. Multi-Focus: As Dual Focus, except will affect up to three targets.

20. Golden Crystal: As Minor Crystal, except turns a Silver Crystal into a +4 spell adder and gives a +20 bonus to one Power Awareness or Power Manipulation skill.

25. Scrying True: As Scrying I, except the range is 10 miles per level.

30. Lord Crystal: As Minor Crystal, except turns a Golden Crystal into a +6 spell adder and gives a +25 bonus to one Power Awareness or Power Manipulation skill.

50. True Crystal: As Minor Crystal, except turns a Lord Crystal into a +8 spell adder and gives a +30 bonus to one Power Awareness or Power Manipulation skill.

Special Notes

  1. Caster may only have one "crystal" spell in existence at a time, and his Crystal spells may only affect his own crystal focus. When the owner of a crystal focus dies, there is a 75% chance that the crystal will turn to powder and be rendered useless.
  2. Any magic user that uses a crystal focus, will quickly become more and more dependent on it. Once a crystal has been created, the caster must hold the crystal in at least one hand for all spell casting maneuvers. If the crystal is not in the caster's hand, he takes a special -20 modifier to all Spell Casting Static Maneuvers. If the caster loses his crystal, he will suffer -20 for 3 months.
