—Study I (P): Allows the caster to retain any religious or philosophical text he reads or learns with total recall.

—Learn Language II (P): Doubles the rate at which the caster can learn a language. To use this spell, the caster must have an adequate translation manuscript (for written text) or an adequate translator (for spoken language).

—Restore Manuscript I (F): Allows caster to reduce the effects of time and wear upon a given book, scroll, or parchment by 1 year/level. This spell will also repair all damage to the manuscript towards restoring it to its proper condition, including rips, tears, punctures, stains, ink spills, water and heat damage, cracks, binding problems, etc. Although it will not replace missing pages, it will restore any page of which at least 75% remains intact. Magical manuscripts may also be revitalized using this spell, although it will not restore power or spells (active or inactive) to the manuscript except those inscribed therein for study (i.e., it would restore a spell study book but not a Rune).

—Inquest I (I): Caster learns whether the text he examines (maximum one page per casting) contains any anagrams, hidden passages, or other forms of concealed or encoded text.

—Passage Origin i (I): Caster can read a piece of text and tell if it has been translated, and if so, what the original language was, and whom the author was (if he was noteworthy or the caster has seen other examples of his work).

—Study II (P): As Study I, except the caster can also read at 2× rate.

—Learn Language III (P): As Learn Language II, except the caster can learn at 3× his normal rate.

—Restore Manuscript II (F): As Restore Manuscript I, except the effects of up to 10 years/level can be repaired, and any page of which at least 50% remains intact can be repaired.

—Inquest II (I): As Inquest I, except the caster also can determine whether or not the page contains any invisible, enruned, or otherwise magically or chemically concealed writings.

—Study III (P): As Study I, except the caster can also read at 3× rate.

—Learn Language IV (P): As Learn Language II, except the caster can learn at 4× his normal rate.

—Restore Manuscript III (F): As Restore Manuscript I, except the effects of up to 100 years/level can be repaired, and any page of which at least 25% remains intact can be repaired.

—Passage Origin Ii (I): As Passage Origin I, except the caster can tell how many times the text has been translated and from what languages.

—Inquest III (I): As Inquest II, except the caster also learns of any changes, corrections, or forgeries within the text.

—Study IV (P): As Study I, except the caster can also read at 4× rate.

—Learn Language V (P): As Learn Language II, except the caster can learn at 5× his normal rate.

—Duplicate Manuscript (F): The text upon up to one page per caster's level can be duplicated on an equal number of blank pages in another book. The proper inks for the duplication must be present, and are consumed in the casting of this spell.

—Passage Origin True (I): As Passage Origin II, except caster can also tell whom the translators were, whom the author was, and locate any previous errors in translation (but not what the correct text originally said).

—Inquest True (I): As Inquest III, except up to one page per level may be examined simultaneously.

—Study True (P): As Study I, except the caster can also read at 5× rate.

—Learn Language True (P): As Learn Language V, except caster can also learn all associated dialects simultaneously.

—Restore Manuscript True (F): As Restore Manuscript I, except all damage will be repaired (no matter how old), all missing and incomplete pages will be restored, and the binding and materials will be returned to their original conditions. At least 5% of the original manuscript must still be intact.

—Duplicate Manuscript True (F): As Duplicate Manuscript, except the text on up to 100 pages per level can be duplicated.
