Words from the Wise (Guys)
An Editorial Rant
To the forty-fourth issue of The Guild Companion.
Module Progress Report
As promised in last month's editorial, this issue sees the start of our serialization of
The Collector, a hybrid d20-Rolemaster campaign module. We'd appreciate your feedback
on this product in the Guild Companion Modules forum as it will help us to improve the development
of future modules.
City of Archendurn will go on sale as soon as our ecommerce site becomes
operational. Our webmasters are, even as I write, tweaking and testing the configuration of the
system. We'll post an announcement as soon as we're ready.
Aaron is still busy writing up Dun Cru, the followup adventure module to
City of Archendurn, but hopes to be submitting a manuscript in the next month or so.
I'm looking forward to seeing it.
I will be attending Dragonmeet 2002 in London on Saturday 30th November (see the
press release in this issue and their website at http://www.dragonmeet.com). I will be donning
my GM's hat and running two game sessions this year.
The first game will be "Pearls Beyond Price", a Run out the Guns! scenario for six players, with
intrepid pirates risking their lives against hurricanes, hostile natives, Spanish warships and more
in search of fame and fortune. This game will run from about 10.30am to 2.30pm - the starting time is very
approximate and will depend on how quickly the convention opens and players can assemble. Characters
will be pregenerated in advance.
The second game will be "Beneath the Veil", a variant Spacemaster scenario using pregenerated characters for
six players, and will run from 3pm to 6pm. (The Spacemaster rules have been adapted into an Adventure Kit format for
convention gaming.) The year is 1935. The place is Venus. The problem is that a British
spaceship carrying the Prince of Wales has crashed somewhere in the steaming and
monster-infested jungles beyond the frontier settlement of Port Aphrodite. Is it an accident
or enemy action by the Nazis or the mysterious Venusians?
Farewell (for now ...)
Our next issue will appear in November, but until then ...
Keep gaming and have fun!
