The Torture Skill Expanded:

DP Costs for Other RM2 Professions

Copyright Lowell R. Matthews © 2002

Torture Skill Invented by Lem Richards, Copyright © 1991, 2002

While Lem Richards' Torturer may be the best at practicing the title skill of his trade, the art is nevertheless something that can be learned by a character of any profession.  As might be expected, those characters that are good at fear, persuasion, Interrogation, the other Social Skills, and to a lesser extent the Medical Skills, will tend to be the best at Torture.

The Torture (Re/In) skill is assigned to the Social Skills category because, as war is diplomacy by other means, torture is persuasion by other means.

The DP Cost Table below lists the professions alphabetically.  "Book" refers to the Rolemaster book in which the profession was introduced, namely Character Law, Rolemaster Companions I–V and VII (RC VI contains no new professions), and the Oriental Companion.  The Time Traveller profession, marked "Novi," appeared in Issue #2 of The Guild Companion, March 1999.
