To celebrate the upcoming relaunch of Mentalism Companion in its RMFRP edition, here is a set of new Mentalism spells, which were omitted from the book for space reasons, to fill the empty slots on a variety of spell lists.

13. Scrying Displacement: This spell causes any scrying upon the protected subject (touched at time of casting) to be displaced up to 100' per level in a random or set direction. The scryer may attempt to pierce the defense after the anomaly has been perceived. 

19. Distort Presence: The mind pattern of the target of this spell is subtly altered for the purposes of Presence, Mind Storing, etc spells. In particular Finding , Direction, Mind Tongue and Mind Merge spells will fail to work, if the true mind pattern is being used for these. If the distorted pattern is Mind Stored and later used when the target is no longer under the protection of this spell, such spells will again fail.

17. Literacy V: As Literacy I, except the caster is capable of reading and writing of the most complex nature in the target language, and strong reading/writing abilities in closely related dialects. For the duration of the spell, the caster has the equivalent of skill rank 10 in the written form of the language.  

19. Dreams V: As Dream I, except limit is 5 dreams per night on any combination of topics.

11. Beast Seeming: As Animal Seeming, except it will enable the enhanced Overlay or Seeming spell to affect magical, mythical or legendary beasts (e.g. Dragon, Unicorn, etc.).

17. Undead Seeming: As Animal Seeming, except it will enable the enhanced Overlay or Seeming spell to affect Undead with at least minimal intelligence.

19. Demon Seeming: As Animal Seeming, except it will enable the enhanced Overlay or Seeming spell to affect demons and other extraplanar entities with at least minimal intelligence.

14. Mind Bond: For as long as the caster concentrates, this spells allows him to probe the memories and thoughts (at one scene per round) of his bonded animal (or his choice if more than one).  

18. Transfer Bond: This spell allows the caster to transfer his bonded animal (or his choice if more than one) to another master. If the animal fails to resist this spell, then its allegiances will belong to its new master. If the new master does not possess this list or has no vacant slots for new bonded animals, then the bonding will be of a nonmagical nature, and the animal will only be normally loyal to its new master.

16 Mass Sleep: As Sleep except affects one target per level of the caster chosen at time of casting.  

19 Dream Invisibility: The dream-self pattern belonging to the target of this spell and any dreams he may experience for the duration of his next sleep cycle are concealed by this spell. This prevents anyone from storing the target's dream-self pattern, observing or storing his dreams and will cause Dream Communication, Enter Dream, Locate Dreamer and other spells which require a detectable dream-self pattern to fail.

Dream Masquerade

17 Dream Masquerade: By casting this spell before retiring, the caster can adopt any dream-self pattern, previously stored and chosen at time of casting, for the duration of his sleep cycle. Thus spells which rely on detecting and identifying a dream-self pattern will go awry, in that those seeking the true pattern will fail and those seeking the assumed pattern will succeed. Thus a caster using this spell can intercept communications meant for another and so forth. In situations where both the caster and the true possessor are asleep simultaneously, the affected target will be whomever is closest to the sender of the seeking spell. The sender may only realise his mistake if his interaction with the caster reveals a discrepancy in behaviour (i.e. the caster reveals ignorance in a dream conversation of facts known by the true target etc.).
