Far shot of Jane Murphy, the newest "it" actress in Hollywood. She has shoulder length blonde hair, a beautiful face, a delicate figure and full lips. She almost looks plastic and has probably had some plastic surgery done. She is standing on the rooftop penthouse apartment of a luxurious building. The rooftop is adorned with small pine trees and rows of shrubs that adorn the ledges of the rooftop (to offer some privacy for those staying here). Expensive patio furniture (a lounge chair, four regular chairs and a table with an umbrella) is near the exit to the rooftop. It is early morning and her breath shows from the slight chill to the air. She is wearing a silk housecoat. She has a contented smile on her face. Her arms are crossed over her chest to contain her warmth.

Caption: Jane Murphy is the newest "it" girl in Hollywood. Young, attractive and driven, she's been chosen to star in the film based on the bestselling novel, The Husband. The movie doesn't start filming for another 4 months, but Jane's decided to spend some time in Winnipeg beforehand to get a feel for the city.

Title: What Else Do You Have Up Your Sleeve?

Page Two

Panel 1.

Tighter one-quarter side shot of Jane. She is walking towards the edge of the rooftop, enjoying the city.

Jane: I like this city. It has this thing about it... a familiarity to it.

Panel 2.

Front one-quarter shot of Jane, the slight breeze fanning her hair.

Jane: My agent suggested I do this, just mingle about the city and absorb its ambiance. I wasn't really sure what she meant... until now.

Panel 3.

Overhead shot of Jane looking over the edge to the streets below. There is a traffic jam and the sidewalks are full of people milling about.

Jane: Look at all these people roaming the streets of this city.

Panel 4.

Far shot. Jane is stretching her arms out.

Jane: I need to get out. I can't stay cooped up here. I need to get out and do something!

Panel 5.

Full shot. Lurch sits alone in a King Edward style chair. He is resting his weary head on a fist, looking much like the statue of Rodin's "The Thinker". (Lurch is 5'10" with a muscular frame. He has a lined high forehead with a widow's peak. He sports a thin mustache (picture Zorro). He is a regal man, apparently of some noble lineage

Caption: On Mordo Island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, Lurch ponders recent events.

Lurch: Asemka.

Page Three

Panel 1.

Far shot. Lurch still sitting in the same pose. His eyes shift over towards a small stand near the table. On it rests one of the Symka tablets.

Lurch: Even behind these walls I can see the trouble you are causing. It will lead to an attempt to take the tablet in my possession.

Panel 2.

Full shot. He gets up.

Panel 3.

Full shot. Walks over to the tablet looking down on it.

Lurch: Without Morpheus to aid me, acquiring the remaining tablets would require that I leave the island. And that I can never do.

Panel 4.

Close-up. Lurch is scheming, the wheels in his head turning.

Lurch: But they can be brought to me...

Page Four

Panel 1.

Large panel, panoramic view of Weinstein Park. Far, far shot of Gideon and Silver walking through a park but it is not obvious at this distance who they are. The park has wooded areas, then open spaces, with open eating areas, benches, and paths. They are strolling casually as if they were there enjoying the view. The sun has started to set and there are long shadows everywhere.

Caption: Weinstein Park...

Silver: Do you remember which way he flew?

Panel 2.

Back full shot of the pair. Gideon is pointing upwards.

Gideon: I was barely conscious. He went this way. I assumed he went right over the park.

Panel 3.

Side angled three-quarter shot. Gideon has lowered his hands. Little green tentacles of energy start swarming out of Gideon's hands.

Silver: So the staff could have dropped anywhere over this area... or it could be in one of the trees.

Gideon: Yeah, I guess.

Page Five

Panel 1.

Angled front three-quarter shot. They are walking and talking. Gideon is holding out his hand, scanning for magical energies in the area.

Gideon: I thought I could try and lock onto it with a spell. I thought this would be easy.

Silver: It has no psionic emanation. I tried scanning for it but nothing. We should have learned more about it. I mean, that demon Mordo did something to it! What were we thinking?

Panel 2.

Tight slightly angled front one-quarter shot of the two. Gideon is being hard on himself. The energy around Gideon's hand is starting to dissipate.

Gideon: You're right. I never did anything to learn about it. Too focused on the Symka tablets.

Panel 3.

Tight close-up shot. Silver touches Gideon's arm.

Panel 4.

Pan out of the same shot. Gideon is looking at Silver awkwardly. Silver has a look of complete trust in her face.

Silver: Gideon, we were all focused on them. Not just you.

Panel 5.

Same shot as last.

Panel 6.

Same shot except Gideon pulls his arm away. He straightens out the sleeve on his "hoodie", and acts as if he pulled his arm away truly for that reason.

Page Six

Panel 1.

Tight one-quarter shot of the two. Gideon is looking away. Silver is watching him.

Gideon: I owe Stick.

Gideon: I'm going to keep looking. You can head back if you want. I may be a while.

Panel 2.

Three quarter shot. Silver holds a hand out, bracing her legs, as if what she feels in her mind is dangerous and is bracing against something happening.

Silver: Wait.

Panel 3.

Back one-quarter shot over Gideon's and Silver's heads to a Leaper in the distance walking the trail on the opposite side of a line of trees.

Silver: One of Katharta's men.

Gideon: I see him. Let's get out of here!

Panel 4.

Front close-up of the two. Silver is looking at Gideon with a sly smile.

Silver: No. I... I have an idea.

Panel 5.

He smiles back wondering what she's come up with.

Panel 6.

She holds a hand up to her left temple and her eyes narrow in concentration.

Silver: Let's see if I can do this. Gideon, be ready in case this doesn't work.

Page Seven

Panel 1.

Far slightly angled back shot of Gideon and Silver, with the Leaper ahead as a far, far shot. Gideon starts amassing energy in his hands. A tendril of psionic energy winds its way from Silver's head moving towards the Leaper.

Panel 2.

Three-quarter front shot of the Leaper, stopping in his tracks, a psionic circle around his head. He holds his head, slightly bent over.

Panel 3.

Full shot. Silver steps back a step, wincing. Gideon is watching her, concerned.

Silver: He's fighting me. Uh... he's almost shaken me.

Gideon: That's enough, I'll knock him out.

Silver: NO!

Panel 4.

Three-quarter shot of Silver. She steps forward leaning in, digging her toes into the ground.

Silver: Damn you, let go!

Panel 5.

Back to the Leaper. Full shot. He's on his knees, holding his head, shaking.

Panel 6.

He stops shaking, getting up.

Panel 7.

Back one-quarter angled shot of the Leaper, with Gideon and Silver far, far off. The Leaper is walking through the tree line.

Page Eight

Panel 1.

Full shot. Silver collapses. Gideon rushing to her.

Gideon: Silver?

Panel 2.

Tight full shot of Gideon and Silver, with the Leaper walking towards them in the distance as a far, far shot. Gideon is crouched at her side, looking towards the Leaper.

Gideon: Silver!

Panel 3.

Reverse angle of the last shot. The Leaper is closing in. Gideon steps up, coalescing the energy in one outstretched hand.

Gideon: I don't know what you did to her, you creep...

Leaper: Stop!

Panel 4.

The Leaper holds his hands up towards Gideon in submission. Gideon is raising his hands up, ready to fire.

Leaper: Stop, Gideon. It's me. I've taken him over.

Gideon: Taken him over? Silver? You're in his head?

Panel 5.

Gideon looking at the Leaper from an angle, studying him.

Leaper: Yes. It appears I can't control my own body at the same time.

Page Nine

Panel 1.

Looks down at Silver's body, lying on the ground.

Gideon: How do I know it's really you?

Leaper: At Dale's cabin, you went on this rant about being responsible for what happened to Stick.

Panel 2.

Tight one-quarter shot of Gideon looking at the Leaper. He is still unsure.

Leaper: Gideon, it is me.

Panel 3.

Side three-quarter shot. Gideon is looking at her a little more trustingly now.

Gideon: Are you okay in there?

Gideon: I mean, are you just controlling his body, or are you in his mind too.

Panel 4.

Close-up shot of the Leaper.

Leaper: I can read his surface thoughts. I don't think I want to try to delve deeper than that. I may lose control of the body by doing more than one thing at once.

Panel 5.

Three-quarter shot. Gideon finally believes! He looks admiring.

Gideon: You're something else, Silver. Always surprising.

Leaper: Here's one more: I know where the tablet is and I know this guy's mission.

Page Ten

Large panel, most of the page in size. Far shot, in the woods around Dale's cabin. Dale is armed with holstered weapons: a handgun to his hip, a hunting knife in his boot, a flak jacket around his torso, and an assault rifle in his hands. He is scouting the area stealthily.

Caption: In the woods near his cabin, Dale Turcott scouts the property to ensure the safety of those inside.

Dale (thinking): What am I doing here? Am I really working on the big story or am I getting into something worse?

Dale (thinking): I still don't really know these people. I know they didn't murder that night watchman because I saw that with my own eyes*. But what's to say they aren't guilty of some other crimes?

Dale (thinking): Am I fooling myself here?

Panel 2.

Tighter shot on Dale, moving around a tree.

Dale (thinking): After my conversation with Silver, things have gotten better. I'm seeing a more human side to them and I think they are starting to trust me.

Panel 3.

Even tighter shot, a close-up of Dale.

Dale (thinking): With that trust I should see all sides of them and learn who they really are.

Panel 4.

Three-quarter shot, inside Dale's cabin. Stick is conscious and looking at his leg.

Caption: Inside the cabin, Stick stirs.

Stick (thinking): Silver set my leg well. The pain isn't as bad now.

Page Eleven

Panel 1.

Far shot, inside the log cabin. Stick is pushing himself up.

Stick (thinking): Was all that pain because my body was trying to heal over bones that weren't set right?

Panel 2.

Tighter three-quarter shot. Stick is swinging his legs over the edge, getting ready to try to stand.

Stick (thinking): Now that the bones are set properly, I can feel my body fixing the damage. Thank you, Silver.

Panel 3.

Close-up of Stick's face.

Stick (thinking): Again you're by my side, helping me. And why? Why do you do this? What have I done to deserve your friendship? Why do you continue to remain by my side even when I continuously fail?

Panel 4.

Flashback to Stick in his old costume. He's standing on a rooftop, staff in hand. Rounded edges to the panels. Slight worm's eye view. He looks heroic in body but his face shows some signs of the psychological trauma he suffered from killing Henry.

Caption: Several years ago...

Panel 5.

Silver flies into the shot as a Sparrow.

Silver: Are you ready for this?

Stick: I think so.

Page Twelve

Panel 1.

Full shot. Stick flies through the night sky, regaining some of his confidence. Silver flies at his side.

Silver: Let's start patrolling and see what we find. You can do this, Stick. I trust in you.

Panel 2.

Back to Gideon and Silver. Side angled shot of Gideon, the Leaper, and Silver in Dale's Rover. Silver is "unconscious" in the back seat. Gideon is behind the wheel, looking nervously over at the Leaper. Silver (mind-controlling the Leaper) is talking.

Caption: Weinstein Park in Dale Turcott's vehicle.

Gideon: So what do you know Silver?

Panel 3.

Same shot.

Leaper: Katharta's sent out his entire legion of hounds and minions to round us up. He wants us found.

Gideon: We've angered him. The magical energy spike when Joaquin struck the tablet fed back to him. That much I figured.

Panel 4.

Reverse angle of the last shot.

Leaper: Our "friend", whose body I've borrowed, was out on the streets looking for us. He's one of the higher ranking hounds in Katharta's army

Panel 5.

Leaper and Gideon. Gideon is looking concerned.

Gideon: You said army.

Leaper: I mean army.

Leaper: Hi Tech Henchmen have recruitment drives often, which is a front for finding hounds for Katharta's army. The best applicants for Hi Tech Henchmen are converted into hounds.

Panel 6.

Close-up of the Leaper. Silver's tender side is visible through his eyes. She looks sad.

Leaper: It seems this process...

Leaper: a long painful one. The process of initiation completely subverts their own will... making them absolutely loyal to Katharta.

Page Thirteen

Panel 1.

Gideon and Leaper. Gideon is all business.

Gideon: So, where have they hidden their Symka tablet?

Silver: Hi Tech Henchmen have it. And it's under guard with the higher ranking followers of Katharta, called Minions.

Gideon: His magic users.

Leaper: Yes, those are the lieutenants, if you wish. They answer directly to Katharta.

Panel 2.

Sarcasm on Gideon's face.

Gideon: This is great. The place is going to be heavily fortified, not only with his Minions but his Hi Tech Henchmen goon squad. He'll likely have those big bruisers there, the ones that killed that night watchman.

Gideon: We don't stand a chance of taking it from there.

Leaper: Gideon...

Panel 3.

Close-up of the Leaper's face, a cocky smile on his lips.

Silver: I can get us in.

Panel 4.

Back to Stick's flashback. He and Silver are flying through the air. Silver has his staff pointed forward downward. Silver is in her sparrow form.

Caption: Several years ago...

Stick: There!

Panel 5.

Overhead shot. Stick and Silver are flying downwards towards the rooftops. Below them are three thieves (two women and a man) running across a rooftop. One of the women and the man have guns in hand. The other woman is wearing big clunky gauntlets over her hands (that go almost up to her elbow). Two police officers (one male, one female) are one rooftop over, running towards the three thieves.

Page Fourteen

Panel 1.

Far back shot of Silver. She changes shapes from bird to bear, landing in front of the thieves. The thieves are surprised and are starting to slow their run.

Panel 2.

Silver rears on her hind legs. The gauntlet-wearing woman sidesteps, while the other two try to stop in their tracks.

Male thief: What the...?

Panel 3.

Silver drops down on the woman, slamming her back down on the ground. She drops her gun. The man aims his gun at Silver. The gauntlet-wearing woman runs around Silver

Panel 4.

The second fires on Silver, narrowly missing her.

Page Fifteen

Panel 1.

Full shot. Stick is landing, knocking the male thief's gun out of his hand with the knob of his staff.

Panel 2.

The man takes an overhand swing at Stick which Stick ducks under.

Panel 3.

A straight uppercut takes the man down.

Fx: SOK!

Panel 4.

Full shot of Stick, Silver, the man, woman, and the two police officers who have just made it over to them. The woman is under Silver's paws, being held down. She doesn't struggle under the weight.

Male Officer: Uh... thanks.

Panel 5.

Stick smiles. The female officer points to Silver.

Female Officer: This your pet?

Stick: No.

Stick: If anything I'm her pet.

Panel 6.

Tighter shot with a focus on the two officers. The female officer points straight ahead into the panel, her hand crossing the border of the panel.

Female Officer: Look, one of them got away.

Page Sixteen

Panel 1.

Close-up shot of Stick, forefront of the panel, the officers in the background of the panel. Stick is thinking it over. He's looking out towards the woman wearing gauntlets (who is out of panel) wondering if he can do this or not, still unsure in himself.

Panel 2.

Same shot. Stick looks back at the officers, swallowing his pride.

Stick: I'll get her.

Female Officer: She's armed.

Panel 3.

Back shot of Stick, flying away.

Stick: So am I.

Panel 4.

Officers looking over at one another. The male is mad at the female.

Male Officer: This is our job here, Evelyn! We can't expect some vigilante...

Female Officer: Then you catch her. Our backup is still minutes away and she could be long gone by then.

Panel 5.

Far shot. The female officer is starting to jog away (following Stick). She is pulling out her firearm, while motioning to the male officer to stay behind. Silver transforms from bear back to sparrow.

Female Officer: Stay with these two and the...

Female Officer: ...uh, bear.

Male Officer: What the...?

Panel 6.

Far, far back shot of the female officer running away, firearm in hand. Tight one-quarter shot of the male officer watching the other officer run. Silver flies through in between, slightly angled but heading in the female officer's direction.

Female Officer: I'm following the man with the stick.

Page Seventeen

Panel 1.

Slight worm's eye view. The gauntlet woman is leaping, as if she had some sort of leaping power, from one rooftop to another. There is a wavy effect beneath her that demonstrates gravity is being defied. In fact, her gauntlets are firing a blast of negative gravity. She has a smile on her face.

Gauntlet: They can't catch me.

Stick (out of panel): Stop now!

Panel 2.

Tight three-quarter shot. The woman whirls around, hands at her side ready, as if she had six-shooters. She looks surprised to see no one there.

Gauntlet: What the hell?

Panel 3.

Back one-quarter shot of the woman, three-quarter shot of Stick. He lands in front of her, arms at his sides to balance his landing.

Stick: It's over. Let's end this quietly.

Panel 4.

Large panel. She swings with full effect of the gauntlets, leveling gravity around Stick, the impact of which sends Stick rocketing backwards. There is that same wavy quality to the point of impact.

Gauntlet: Bugger off!

Panel 5.

Far, far shot of Stick. He rides the impact and circles back around. She has resumed running again.

Page Eighteen

Panel 1.

Stick lands in front of her as again.

Stick: Did you steal those? Come on, lady. Let's not do this.

Panel 2.

Another swing, but Stick back steps this one.

Panel 3.

Another shot at Stick. He leans back, knocking her gauntlet to the side with his staff.

Fx: TOK!

Panel 4.

She strikes out again, which Stick avoids with a side head bob, her fist traveling over his shoulder. Stick is getting angry. Very angry. He feels that he is going to snap. He has same rage in his eyes he had when he killed Henry. He is letting go of his staff.

Stick: Enough!

Page Nineteen

Panel 1.

Large panel. Stick reaches out with both hands, grabbing a gauntlet in each one, forcing the woman to point them at the ground just beneath herself. The rage is still in his face. She, too, is angry, angry that Stick is still there.

Fx: Tok!

Fx: Tok!

Panel 2.

Tight three-quarter shot. Stick and the woman face to face, gritting their teeth in effort and anger.

Page Twenty

Panel 1.

Full shot of Stick, far one of the woman. She shoots up like a rocket. Stick is on the ground with the gauntlets in his hands. Her own weapons turned on herself, she fired herself out of her gauntlets.

Panel 2.

Three-quarter shot. Stick turns, the anger draining from his face.

Stick (thinking): I did it.

Panel 3.

The female police officer has made it over towards Stick. She is looking at him, impressed. Stick has gained some confidence in himself.

Stick: I assume you can return these to the owner? Although...I may suggest this is a little too much power for the average citizen.

Female Officer: Maybe so. But I could say that about you.

Stick: I'm not your average citizen. One moment.

Panel 4.

Stick points upward, the officer following with her eyes.

Stick: I have the perp to catch. I popped her like a cork.

Panel 5.

Stick flies off, the officer looking up at him.

Stick: I don't want her to smack down.

Page Twenty-One

Panel 1.

The three thieves are being escorted down the fire escape by a host of police officers. The original male and female officers are standing with Stick and Silver (in her sparrow form -- she is perched on his shoulder).

Caption: Later...

Female Officer: Thank you, whoever you are. It's been a long time since we've had someone like you around. Everyone else just uses their abilities selfishly.

Male Officer: It's hard to trust parahumans. No offence. Most of them use their powers for their own good.

Panel 2.

Silver chimes in, eliciting a reaction from the policewoman.

Silver: His name is... Stick.

Male Officer: I thought you were his pet.

Silver: How cute, but no... You can believe what you want. I am Silver.

Female Officer: Thanks for the assist, Silver... Stick. Hopefully we'll see you again.

Panel 3.

Close-up on Stick and Silver. Stick is deep in thought.

Stick (thinking): I did good today. I didn't lose it;I didn't kill anyone.

Panel 4.

Another close-up of Stick. He is questioning himself and his abilities.

Stick (thinking): I was effective. Who knows what this lady would have done with those gauntlets she was wearing. If we hadn't of shown up...

Panel 5.

Another close-up of Stick. He is beginning to lighten up.

Stick (thinking): I stopped her. I turned her over to the authorities.

Stick (thinking): Silver's faith in me... maybe she is right. Maybe I can do this!

Panel 6.

Close-up of Stick, smiling.

Stick: You will see us again. We will be watching your backs, helping wherever we can.

Page Twenty-Two

Panel 1.

Stick is seated on the couch, looking over to Joaquin. Joaquin is waking, very groggy and out of it.

Caption: Dale's cabin...

Joaquin: Stick?

Stick: Joaquin? You're awake!

Panel 2.

Tighter three-quarter shot. Both men are looking at each other. Stick is relieved to see Joaquin awake.

Joaquin: Stick, I know where the tablet is.

Joaquin: Where's Gideon?

Stick: Gone. He and Silver went looking for my staff. I lost it. What's this about the tablets?

Panel 3.

Joaquin is shaking some of the grogginess off. Stick is listening intently.

Joaquin: You went toe to toe with Katharta. And you're alive? I wasn't sure if you'd made it.

Joaquin: Look, we need to get Gideon and Silver back. We have a lot to talk about.

Stick: What do you mean?

Panel 4.

Close-up shot of Joaquin. He looks dead serious.

Joaquin: I got... intimate with the tablets... all of them. I know where they are. I know what they are...

Joaquin: ...and what they are meant for.

Caption: Next issue, Silver's plan is in effect. With all four members up and about, what will they do next? Also, what is to become of Katharta's Symka?
